Care guidance for hand‑crafted Jingdezhen Linglong porcelain pieces.
Every LIANHUA POTTERY piece is handcrafted with fine porcelain clay and traditional artisan techniques. Proper care ensures the pieces remain elegant, glossy, and long‑lasting for daily use, gifting, and corporate collections.
For all LIANHUA POTTERY porcelain items, gentle hand‑washing with warm water and mild neutral detergent is always the safest option. Please use soft sponges or cloths. Never use metal scourers, steel wool or abrasive powders as these will scratch the glazed surface permanently.
Slight tea scale and mineral deposits may build up after long‑term use, which is a normal trace of daily usage. For stubborn tea or food stains, gentle soaking with lemon juice, baking‑soda solution or diluted vinegar is acceptable. Avoid prolonged soaking of porcelain pieces.
‑ Underglaze blue‑and‑white porcelain (underglaze decoration): Safe for household dishwasher cycles.
‑ In‑glaze decorated porcelain: Generally dishwasher‑safe under mild dishwasher programmes.
‑ Overglaze painted, decal /transfer‑print decorated pieces and all gilded & silver‑trimmed items: NOT dishwasher safe. High‑temperature dishwasher cycles will cause decorative layers to fade, peel or wear off.
‑ Linglong open‑work porcelain: We do not recommend dishwasher cleaning. Although the carved openings are fully fused and sealed by translucent linglong glaze after firing, its thin‑walled body is vulnerable to mechanical stress from high‑pressure dishwasher jets.
‑ Plain undecorated & underglaze blue‑and‑white porcelain: May be used in microwave ovens for short‑time heating.
‑ All items with gold /silver gilding, overglaze painting and decal transfer prints: Do NOT use in microwave or oven. Metallic decorations may spark and permanent damage to decoration may occur.
‑ Linglong open‑work porcelain: Avoid microwave heating. Its thin‑walled construction is sensitive to rapid temperature fluctuations, which may lead to cracking.
Important general note: Never subject hot porcelain to sudden cold water or cold surfaces. Rapid temperature swings can induce thermal‑shock cracking.
Avoid long‑term direct sunlight exposure, which may gradually fade surface decorations especially for overglaze and decal‑printed patterns. Store porcelain in dry, well‑ventilated locations. Keep porcelain away from open‑flame sources. When stacking pieces, add soft protective padding between items to prevent glaze abrasion and chipping.
For corporate gift sets and collected art porcelain, we suggest storing pieces in original gift boxes when not in use. This effectively prevents dust, collision and glaze abrasion, keeping the sets in perfect condition for long‑term display and business reception scenarios.
‑ Do not impact or collide porcelain with hard objects
‑ Do not place empty high‑temperature heated porcelain directly into cold water
